Gem Air is a family-owned business out of Salmon, Idaho that has operated in the Mountain North West since 1982. We run a number of different operations, from back-country charter flights into the Frank Church and Selway-Bitterroot wilderness areas, to year-round commuter flights between Boise and Salmon, to freight routes for UPS in Idaho, Utah, and Oregon. Our mission at Gem Air is to provideour customers with safe, reliable, and clean air service from a courteous and professional staff. 

We employ permanent and seasonal office and line staff, year round maintenance staff, and both seasonal and year-round pilots. Most employees are located in Salmon, Idaho, though some year-round pilot positions are based in either SLC or BOI. For those living in Salmon, our rural mountain town offers easy, out-your-backdoor access to rafting, fishing, mountain biking, hunting, skiing and more.

If you are interested in seasonal summer flying, we generally start collecting resumes in winter, and make hiring decisions in January/February. Feel free to call/and or email for those positions.

Note: We do not offer any flying positions that don’t require the part 135 minimum of 500 total flight time, and we generally do not to hire any pilots with under 1000hrs total flight time. Please do not apply if you do not meet the qualifications.
